Polygems privacy policy

Antumbra Ltd makes Polygems and is responsible for your information under UK data protection law.

What stays on your phone

Your progress, your solutions, your settings and whether you have bought Remove ads are stored on your phone and nowhere else. We have no accounts and no servers that receive them, so deleting the app deletes them. Restore purchases brings Remove ads back.

Level stats

To see which levels are too hard and where players give up, the game sends anonymous level stats to GameAnalytics, a service that collects them for us. Each one says which level was played, whether it was solved or left, how close to the best build it was solved, and when a hint was taken.

Alongside them GameAnalytics receives your device model, operating system and app version, a rough country worked out from your IP address, and a random identifier for the app on your phone. It is not linked to your name, email, or anything that says who you are, and we use it only to improve the game.

To stop sending level stats, open Settings in the game, tap Ads and privacy, and turn off Share level stats. GameAnalytics explains how it handles this information at gameanalytics.com/privacy.

Ads

Polygems shows ads through Google AdMob: a full screen ad now and then between levels, never in the first chapter and never in the middle of a level. Google, not Antumbra, collects the information these ads use, and we never receive it in a form that identifies you.

To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google collects your IP address, a rough location worked out from it, details of your device and the app, and how you interact with the ads. It can also use your phone's advertising identifier. On an iPhone it only gets that identifier if you allow tracking when asked.

In the UK, the EU and Switzerland you are asked when you first open the game whether Google may use this information to personalise ads. If you say no, you still see ads, but they are not based on your interests. Google explains how it uses information from apps that show its ads at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Buying Remove ads stops the ads for good.

Changing your ad choices

In the UK, the EU and Switzerland, open Settings in the game, tap Ads and privacy, then Ad privacy choices to change your answer at any time.

On an iPhone, go to Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Tracking, and turn Polygems off. On Android, go to Settings, then Google, then Ads, and delete your advertising ID.

Purchases

Payments are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your card details; we only learn that a purchase happened, so the game can turn the ads off.

If you email us

We use your email address and what you tell us only to reply and to fix the problem. We keep the conversation for as long as it is useful for that, and delete it when asked.

Children

Polygems is a puzzle game for a general audience. Anyone can play it, but it is not made specifically for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal information held about you, have it corrected or deleted, limit or object to its use, take a copy with you, and withdraw consent you have given.

Level stats and emails are the only information we hold, and the stats do not say who you are. Requests about ad data are for Google, which you can make through your Google account or Google's own forms. Email us if you are not sure where to start and we will help. We reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top. If a change affects what is collected, the game will ask again where the law requires it.
